From parking to park: the Moermanpark in Roeselare will become the lever to make the city more climate-resistant and water-robust. By the summer of 2024, we will transform this former asphalt jungle into a refreshing city park. Sweco is responsible for the technical elaboration of the design and the supervision of its execution. New entrance pavilion gives UZ Gent a new face

A temporary entrance building gives UZ Gent a fresh face. With this new reception area, the hospital takes an important step in the master plan Project U, which includes a new main building centrally located on the campus. In a few years, this will provide space for a permanent reception area. In the meantime, the temporary entrance building already brings together the two separate reception areas and administrations. VK architects+engineers, part of Sweco, is assisting UZ Gent in this ambitious renewal of the university hospital campus. Read more

The village heart of Zonhoven is putting water in the spotlight. After being out of sight for sixty years, the Roosterbeek stream is now visible again, meandering through a new open bed. Fish have been given their own VIP access: 18 fish ladders to help them swim upstream. Read more

SILT, the new gem of Middelkerke, opens its doors

This weekend, a new jewel on the Belgian coast opens its doors. In Middelkerke, the general public can explore the brand-new, fossil-free casino SILT. The design team, including ZJA, Delva, Bureau Bouwtechniek, and VK architects+engineers, part of Sweco, demonstrates that an integrated approach yields more than just an aesthetic building: landscape and architecture intertwine in a harmonious way to create an integrated experience with full utilization of the unique atmosphere of the place. Gentspoort | A herculean project that will sustainably change Ghent

Ghent is preparing for 'the construction site of the century.' On March 16, the Gentspoort project team demonstrated how the project, in addition to laying 10 km of new tram tracks, is creating space for pedestrians, cyclists, and a qualitative development of the public space. On Friday, 75 professional stakeholders gathered at the Probeurs. On Saturday, the Gentspoort fair took place, with 650 visitors attending the information fair and 130 residents joining one of the 12 workshops. Read more
