Sweco puts strong duo at the helm of its Buildings division
As of 10 January 2022, Peter Vanhoegaerden, together with fellow director Dirk Boydens, is in charge of the daily operations of Sweco’s Buildings division.
Peter Vanhoegaerden and Dirk Boydens form a well-oiled tandem to realise Sweco’s ambition in the building market: the design and supervision of sustainable and innovative exemplary buildings that excel in terms of energy efficiency, ecology, profitability and architectural quality.
Together, they can count on some 300 passionate Buildings colleagues with their top expertise in building techniques, sustainability consultancy and stability studies. In this way, we reinforce our one-stop-shop approach wherein Sweco, as a sustainable frontrunner, provides its clients with cutting-edge advice during the project start.
As COO of Lantis, Peter Vanhoegaerden was in charge of one of the largest engineering projects in Europe with Oosterweel. He now joins Sweco as a member of the board in the capacity of Division Director Buildings.
Peter Vanhoegaerden has years of expertise in leading large-scale projects and organisational structures. He is also very familiar with the ins and outs of Sweco, where he has been active in various management positions for decades.
Peter Vanhoegaerden is looking forward to his new challenge in a familiar environment: “I’m delighted to be back at Sweco and to be fully committed to our highly sustainable ambition: Transforming Society Together. With construction projects we have to think decades ahead. That calls for progressive, future-proof designs and techniques.”
In 1994, Dirk Boydens took over the helm as CEO at Boydens Engineering together with his brother Wim Boydens (CSTO). They built the company considerably further into a leading national and international engineering firm.
By joining forces, Boydens Engineering has been part of the Sweco Group since 23 June 2021. We warmly welcome Dirk Boydens in his new role as Division Director Buildings at Sweco.
“As engineers, we want to take on challenges driven by values. Together, we will pursue smart energy solutions for buildings with a minimal environmental impact. Which is why we focus strongly on innovation, technical installations and complete services for architects, project developers and building owners,” says Dirk Boydens.
Peter Vanhoegaerden and Dirk Boydens will give the Buildings division wings to live up to Sweco’s growth ambitions. We wish both gentlemen much success with their common mission!
