Sweco concludes an agreement with V2S

Engineering firm Sweco has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement with V2S. V2S specialises in structural studies and has a good reputation in the Limburg construction industry. Erwin Malcorps, Managing Director of Sweco Belgium, declares: “We are at cruising speed when it comes to our capacity enhancement in terms of structural studies. We aim to further develop our unique one-stop shop for complex integrated construction projects along with V2S’s structural engineers and draughtsmen. In bringing additional resources on board, we anticipate increasing client demand, while also reinforcing our position in northeast Flanders. With our in-depth expertise in sustainable construction techniques as a calling card, we also aim to attract and train young, newly graduated engineers.”

V2S is an engineering firm that focusses on structural engineering for buildings and special structures. The company has an office in Genk and was founded in 2006 by Walter Van Erum and Luc Schouteden. A dedicated team of 13 structural experts and draughtsmen design and provide structural studies for new constructions, reconstructions, renovations and restorations. The nature of the projects is varied: from houses and apartments, to schools and shops, to industrial buildings and special structures.

A word from Walter Van Erum and Luc Schouteden, directors at V2S: “At V2S, we like to think several years ahead, which is why we decided to approach Sweco. Apart from providing solid ground for our own people to build on, we also want to work on knowledge expansion and growth. Our way of working, with plenty of participation, flexibility and knowledge exchange between young and old, is a great match with that of Sweco. We are confident that we have found a good, warm home for our employees. This will allow us to help roll out the ‘Transforming Society Together’ vision, whereby we can see our projects turn into sustainable, future-proof buildings.”
