The group Hôpitaux Iris Sud has opened the doors of its ‘New Tech’ building on the Etterbeek-Ixelles campus. Sweco was responsible for the full study and implementation follow-up of the special techniques. Assar Architects took care of the design.

The entire medical-technical building covers some 12,000 m² and is equipped with advanced technology for an optimal working environment. It houses a day hospital, a new operating theatre, an intensive care unit and a sterilisation unit.

This modern complex illustrates how technological innovations benefit staff, patients and visitors alike. The new construction project cost a total of 39 million euros and is one of the achievements of the Strategic Plan 2025 of Hôpitaux Iris Sud, which will be rolled out in several Brussels campuses in the coming years.

The operating rooms are equipped with the latest equipment. With our study of special techniques, we have ensured, among other things, that the surgical procedures are carried out in the best possible conditions. In this way, we are helping to build a qualitative healing environment that is at the same time able to adapt flexibly to all evolutions and expansions.
