Chemicals

Sweco has acquired decades of in-depth expertise and competence in engineering and construction management for the chemical industry. We can assist in all phases of chemical projects starting with feasibility and concept engineering.

Sweco has concluded framework contracts with a wide range of chemical companies for the purpose of executing MOC projects (Management of Change). This cooperation is often done in a 'Managed Service Concept 'which aims to continuous improvements. We are equally involved in complex shutdowns or large EPCm projects.

Our process department plays an important role in the early stages of a chemical project, including through developing conceptual designs, conducting Hazop or FMEA risk analyses, and verifying concept designs in relation to hazardous or explosive environments as well as legislation.

We use state-of-the-art 3D design tools like Plant3D to design chemical installations and PHA-PRO for Hazop. Process simulations are conducted with ASPEN whilst for hydraulic calculations we use Fathom and Arrow.
