Facts

Client:Pfizer

Location: Puurs

Period: 2013

Duration: 18 months

Phases: Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management

Our approach

  • Transparant design: the building is an eye-catcher next to the N16 between Sint-Niklaas and Willebroek. The transparant facade provides ‘insight’ into the offices, but also into the packaging booths
  • Acoustic calculations: limiting noise between the packaging booths
  • Analysis of the carrying capacity of the structure: a concrete floor was chosen for more flexibility and more bearing capacity
  • Replacement of the electrical steam humidification with a central steam installation in the existing packaging unit, saving energy and capacity on the transformer as a result

Specific approach

  • ‘Spare’ capacity was provided in order to keep the turnaround as short as possible. A new packaging line can be operational in a very short amount of time
  • Rigorous safety policy: awarded ‘Best yard’ by Pfizer Safety
