Sweco has implemented a performant Asset Information Management system at the chemical company Trinseo. This entails processes and tools for technical documentation, as well as content processing and management thereof.

The demand for an adequate and immediate response to emergency situations is currently on the rise. A good response is to always have the required permits and technical documentation within reach or by improving safety to protect investments.
The plant owners, as well as Trinseo, a global supplier of chemical materials and producer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber, have recognised this issue and in response they went out to identify a reliable partner to improve their data management. Trinseo prepared a package of requirements for this purpose, including Single Source or Truth, flexible configuration and Management of Change. Sweco was responsible for preparing the configuration and implementation of the Meridian platform.
The Proof of Concept (POC) project approach employed by Sweco helped Trinseo to quickly discover the capabilities of the tool and we were in a position to guarantee delivery on their expectations. With this scope assessment, the project was implemented within the predetermined period of 6 months. The customer-oriented approach employed by Sweco was crucial for successful project development. This resulted in strong, transparent and open cooperation, and made a vital contribution to the strong partnership as it stands today.
The hands-on mentality of the Sweco team means that all functional requirements could be guaranteed and achieved to establish a smooth transition. We are currently preparing the roadmap that includes general implementation at all Trinseo sites and activation of new functionalities, such as 'mobile client' and an integrated 'vendor portal'.
