The regional hospital in Tienen combines two existing hospital campuses. The building is surrounded by city fields and lawns and anchors itself in the community with a number of public functions at its base.

A renovation is adding a new chapter to the rich history of this former city landmark, as a covered city square with an underground rock concert hall, catering facilities, exhibition space and offices.

Wiegerinck and Sweco have been selected as the architectural team to design a new hospital building for AZ Jan Portaels in Vilvoorde. On the CAT site, a former industrial site at the rear of Vilvoorde railway station, a compact hospital of 29,000 m² GFA is being built, which will be commissioned in 2027.

The Spatial Policy Plan focuses on preserving and enhancing the rural and green identity of the municipality of Tremelo. BUUR part of Sweco has developed a future-proof spatial policy, with a strategic focus on sustainable development. We collaborated with n.o.n.k.e.l. for the participation process. 

In this study, we explore innovative strategies to transform social neighborhoods into climate-neutral and climate-resilient living environments. Sweco, in collaboration with SuMa Consulting, conducted the research on behalf of the Department of Environment.
