Measurement campaign at ArcelorMittal Genk
ArcelorMittal engaged Sweco Belgium for a comprehensive measurement campaign on the cooling circuits and cooling towers as well as for the development of the corresponding optimal control strategy of these installations.
The specific request was to investigate the possible energy savings that would bring about a major renovation of the refrigeration plants. To this end, Sweco conducted a measurement campaign that gathered information about both electrical and thermal capacity. We also proposed an optimal control strategy that combines high operational exploitation security with minimal energy consumption.
