HR Strategy and People Practices
“At Sweco, we strongly believe in the power of our people—’Best People’ is the cornerstone of our vision,” continues Jochen Ghyssels. “When our employees are happy, this translates into satisfied clients and sustainable business growth. This positive cycle is at the heart of our success.”
We focus on creating an inclusive and supportive work environment where employees can develop and grow their talents. Diversity and inclusion are key values, and we work daily to ensure that everyone feels valued and supported.
Human Flourishing Through Talent Development
At Sweco, listening to our 2,700 employees is essential. When people thrive, happiness follows. This is why we encourage continuous dialogue through Sweco Talks, an open conversation between employees and managers to set goals, track progress, provide coaching, and discuss team and project well-being.
We place special emphasis on customer focus, workplace environment, collaboration, competencies, leadership, trust, efficiency, and diversity & inclusion. These aspects are continuously monitored, and we take targeted action where necessary. Additionally, we foster sustainability awareness through our Sustainability Coaches, who are actively involved in every team.

About the Top Employers Institute
To earn the Top Employer certification, companies undergo a thorough screening and audit. The Top Employers Institute assesses what organizations offer their employees in terms of career development, company culture, and internal communication.
The evaluation includes a survey of 100 HR best practices, covering six HR domains and 20 topics such as People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Well-being, and Diversity & Inclusion. Companies must not only respond to the survey but also provide comprehensive documentation to verify their practices.
This global certification confirms that Sweco is among the best employers in Belgium, continuously investing in people, innovation, and a sustainable work environment.
