The Local Antwerp Police wishes to centralise its services within a single master building.
From 2020, this will be the beating heart of Antwerp’s safety services and the primary workplace for a large part of the police personnel. Sweco is assisting AG VESPA with putting this DBFM project in the market.
The master building will thus be clearly decisive for the functioning and image of the Local Police Department of Antwerp. The building covers approximately 78,000 m² with additional area for 750 parking places and will be put on the market as a DBFM (Design, Build, Finance and Maintain). In the run up to this new master building, the designers and stakeholders have a powerful lever in their hands for innovation and change for the Local Antwerp Police.
Assignment
As Technical Adviser, Sweco will assist the client in preparing the output specifications and tender documents as well as during the conducting of negotiations and concluding the contract. Additionally, Sweco is also acting as BREEAM assessor. During the process, REBEL Group and Eubelius advocaten are being worked closely with; they are respectively responsible for the financial/tax and legal components and with AGVESPA as principal.
Sweco Belgium was commissioned thanks to its vast expertise in DBFM projects and experience with police stations. After the Ministry of the Brussels-Capital Region, this is the second consecutive DBFM project that Sweco Belgium is implementing in this way.
