Erwin Malcorps, Managing Director of Sweco Belgium, declares: ‘I am very pleased to welcome VENAC’s acoustic engineers. Their expertise in all facets related to acoustics and vibrations is currently highly sought after in the market and plays an important role in the development of sustainable construction projects. Together, we will be one of the few engineering firms in the Belgian and Luxembourg market that can offer complex integrated projects across all disciplines. We are capable of relieving the burden on clients and architectural firms even more through our unique combination of sustainable construction techniques and acoustic services. This is how we meet the increased comfort requirements and the sharply rising demand for a wide service range for integrated construction projects, mainly in terms of comfort requirements.’

VENAC engineering firm (Vibrations Engineering & Acoustics Consulting) was founded by Fernand Vandervorst in 1985. The family-owned company has become an established name in the field of acoustic study and design of houses, apartments, offices, cultural buildings and industrial sites, among others. There are five experts who specialise in building acoustics, room acoustics, noise levels of technical installations, environmental acoustics and vibration control.

Tom Vandervorst, director of VENAC, attests: ‘We pride ourselves on our unique position in the construction industry with our pragmatic approach and realistic, implementable solutions. I am confident we can continue that trusted line at Sweco. Our extensive acoustic expertise is also a perfect fit for the ‘Transforming Society Together’ vision, because in our busy society, stopping noise pollution reduces stress and creates a healthier environment for each and every one of us. Intelligent construction with lightweight sustainable materials goes hand in hand with the increasing importance for a good acoustic climate.’
