Egied Van Broeckhovenschool in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek

Egied Van Broeckhoven School in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek

1st Place Award in Heritage & Architecture

This project brings together heritage, circular construction, and social engagement. The former brewery was transformed into a modern, sustainable school while respecting its Art Deco architecture. Thanks to collaboration with local organisations, the school also serves as a social hub in the neighbourhood. Sweco was responsible for structural engineering, acoustics, technical systems, energy performance, and sustainability.

Complete Renovation of the Beverentunnel

Public Choice Award in Urban Development & Infrastructure & Mobility

One of the largest tunnel renovations in Flanders, with a strong focus on sustainability and safety. The tunnel is being equipped with new lighting, ventilation, and fire protection systems, while solar panels and water purification ensure environmentally friendly operation. Sweco supports the AWV with technical coordination during the execution design and intensive site supervision.

Leopoldskazerne in Gent

Leopold Barracks in Ghent

Public Choice Award in Heritage & Architecture

This former military site has been transformed into an open urban district with housing, the provincial government building, a hotel, and a neighbourhood park. Within the ‘bouwteam’, we were responsible for the structural engineering.
