The three core services of FPC Risk within Sweco
FPC Risk offers a wide range of services in fire safety and risk management. Within Sweco Belgium, this expertise is further strengthened through close collaboration with disciplines such as infrastructure, energy and environment. As a result, projects in complex environments can be approached more efficiently and more comprehensively.

Fire Risk Consulting
Strategic advice throughout the entire safety lifecycle
Our consultants guide clients through complex standards and regulations and act as the essential link between company management, technical teams, contractors, fire services, insurers and architects. Our services include qualitative and quantitative fire risk analyses, support during permitting procedures, GAP analyses against corporate and legal requirements, and guidance in negotiations with regulators and insurers.

Fire Safety Engineering
Innovative technical solutions
Our engineers design, simulate and test fire safety concepts with a comprehensive view of what is required, specifically tailored to each unique organisation. This includes the design and assessment of detection and suppression systems such as sprinklers, smoke extraction, gas suppression, water mist and fire pumps, support during installation, testing and commissioning, as well as advanced CFD simulations and evacuation modelling. This allows fire spread and evacuation procedures to be analysed and optimised in detail.

Crisis & Emergency Management
From chaos to control
Emergency management is more than a response to an incident; it is a strategic approach that helps identify and mitigate risks before they occur. FPC Risk develops optimised emergency management systems, including Emergency Response Plans, Responder Action Cards, Crisis Dashboards and Pre-Incident Plans. Scenario-based training and real-life exercises structurally increase organisational preparedness.

Inspiring reference projects
The breadth of FPC Risk’s portfolio speaks for itself. In the buildings sector, the team has worked with international hotel groups for more than ten years and has supported the fire safety of iconic architectural buildings requiring specialised engineering. For large hospital environments, emergency plans and training programmes were developed with a specific focus on immobile patients.
In the pharmaceutical and industrial sectors, FPC Risk provided fire safety support during the permitting and construction phases of new pharmaceutical production units for advanced therapies. Collaborations within the petrochemical and industrial sectors have taken the team to complex international locations around the world. Projects involving biogas and new energy technologies also illustrate how innovative energy systems introduce new fire safety risks that must be managed proactively.
In infrastructure, FPC Risk has been an advisor to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport for more than 20 years on fire safety, evacuation and safe material use. For Brussels Airport Company, tender documents were prepared for the renewal of detection, alarm and evacuation systems across an area of 360,000 m². The AWV tunnel safety project demonstrates how rescue access and evacuation strategies in confined spaces present specific challenges.
